Rock-Balloons (c64/v20/c16/zx/pc)

RockBalloons is an open source game for the C64, Vic20 (unexpanded), C16, PET, ZX-Spectrum, PC/MSDOS, and Windows/Linux via SDL2. Its about 4k in size.

Navigate the maze and avoid the crunch!

Use a Joystick, or keys:

 QAOP  : (or cursor) move Up/Down/Left/Right

 SPACE : (or fire) use Dynamite.

 K or ESC - Quit.

This game is a twist on the familiar "falling rocks" theme. Avoid being hit by falling Rocks, or by rising Balloons! These are liberated when you clear a path under a rock or above a balloon. If the Rock is immedately above you, or the Balloon below, it is held in place while you occupy the square. You may then safely sidestep.

Navigate the maze and collect the keys on each level, to progress to the next level. You can leave 1 key behind, so try to work out the hardest one to reach. The keys will flash white during play. You get (10xlevel) points for each key.

You can collect and then use sticks of Dynamite at critical times to clear a path through to your objective. Be careful - when you use Dynamite, Rocks/Balloons above/below can fall down the gaps left and hit you.

Sometimes a key is in a position where you cannot move after taking it, without being hit. In that case, leave that key to last, and it wont matter. As the game progresses, you have more keys to collect on each level, and more bricks, rocks and balloons to navigate.

The source code is included in the zip file.

It includes the VTDL library needed to compile it.
